I bet this bass has loads of stories to tell. The original owner told me he had it from new and it had hung in a wardrobe for 15 years.
I have done the minimum to bring this instrument to full working order without spoiling it and removing the natural aging, (just peek under the pick guard!)
It had to have pickups and control set up as those were rotted and rusted. The chrome control plate looks great. The control knobs are period vintage Fender which would have been on this bass anyway. The neck is beautifully straight and the truss rod works! Tuning pegs are original and one is a little bent but works fine so I saw no reason to mess with them. This is an old instrument that is in good working order for its age and will rock on for many more years. I fitted Chrome Flat wound strings which you serious bassist will know are not cheapest but feel great to the touch. Strings are not settled in. Age and bad health cause me to sell all my instruments. This bass comes with a Fender Padded Gig bag in clean and good order.
